Wynn Resorts’ integrated resort initiative in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) might include two casinos, which is one more than was anticipated, and that figure could potentially increase to three in the future.
Situated in Ras Al Khaimah, Al Khaimah is presently being built and is set to launch in early 2027. Addressing the Exotic Wedding Planning Conference in Ras Al Khaimah, David Loiseau — vice president of sales for the venue — stated that the integrated resort might include two or three gaming sections.
"We’ll have a sky gaming casino on the 22nd floor and the main casino. We’re putting all the ingredients together to make sure that entertainment will be at the heart of this destination,” he said.
Loiseau pointed out that Wynn isn’t “importing Las Vegas to Ras Al Khaimah,” but suggested the operator might take some cues from its home market while expanding the UAE property. Wynn Al Marjan Island will mark the first legalized gaming establishment in the history of the Arab region.
Wynn's UAE Casino Information
The primary casino at Wynn Al Marjan Island is anticipated to cover 224,000 square feet. Although it surpasses the gaming area at Wynn Las Vegas, it represents a small fraction of the total square footage of the UAE property.
Earlier estimates suggested that the primary casino would occupy only 4% of the 5.6 million square feet at Wynn Al Marjan Island. In Las Vegas and Macau, Wynn is known for prioritizing amenities and entertainment rather than solely emphasizing gaming — characteristics that likely benefited the operator in the UAE because of the area's longstanding anti-gambling attitudes.
The initial plans for the venue did not include a second gaming area; however, in a statement to David O’Neil from Skit, Wynn admitted that the sky gaming area might be developed, but there are no plans for a third gaming space.
“In addition to the main gaming floor, there will also be an upper floor private gaming area, or salon privé, which is common in integrated resorts,” according to the statement.
Wynn Shouldn’t Overstress UAE Casino
In October of last year, the General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA) issued the gaming license for the Wynn venue, and though this was a significant advancement for enhancing the property's long-term economic sustainability, the operator is not required to prioritize gaming as the main attraction of the integrated resort.
One explanation for this is that the GCGRA probably won't grant additional casino licenses in the near future, which means the Wynn gaming establishment will have a several-year monopoly.
Additionally, Wynn Al Marjan Island will have 1,500 premium hotel rooms, almost twenty restaurants, clubs, an entertainment space, and other non-gaming facilities designed to attract visitors to the site.
